FIBER ARTS SCHOLARSHIP for $1,000.00

I am representing the Scholarship Committee for the Kitsap Quilters’ Quilt Guild, which meets in Poulsbo, Washington.  Our guild consists of approximately 275 quilters living in Kitsap County.  We are very involved in several philanthropic projects within the community.

 

Below you will find a link to the application form for college students who are interested and meet the criteria, listed below.

 

Each applicant must:

 

a. be a Washington state resident.

b. have graduated from high school at least four years prior to application for the scholarship.

c. have completed course work above the 100 level.

d. be enrolled in an accredited Washington state college, university, or technical institution.

e. be enrolled in an Fiber Arts program, including, but not necessarily limited to sewing, weaving, clothing design, quilting, dyeing, basketry, curatorship and preservation, history and technical production of textiles. (Art courses that include design, composition, surface design, and art history are also considered.)

f. have a minimum GPA of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.

 

COMPLETED APPLICATIONS MUST BE SENT VIA US MAIL OR A POSTAL SERVICE, TO THE ADDRESS LISTED ABOVE, POSTMARKED NO LATER THAN THE DUE DATE OF: MAY 18th,  2012.  EMAILED APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

 

Our committee will review all applications and select the individual we feel is most deserving of the scholarship.  (Please note that we do not require a financial statement from any applicant.)  Upon selection, the student will be notified of his/her selection and required to sign an agreement to use the scholarship in their course of Fiber Arts study.  Upon receipt of the student’s agreement, our treasurer will forward a check to the appropriate institution’s Financial Aid office.
